Maintenance Person Required
The parish council is looking for a maintenance person to do a variety of tasks on an annual contract. The contract is for approximately 50 days per annum (it is recognised that the tasks and hours will have seasonal fluctuations, requiring more effort in the summer months than winter) and the types of work involved will include cutting verges/hedges, strimming and weeding, maintaining council assets, benches, signs, play areas, noticeboards etc. If you are interested in tendering for this contract please contact the clerk by the end of April 2017.
Clerk: Mrs Donna Evans, Park Farm, Dunkeswell, Honiton, Devon EX14 4RN

Connecting Devon and Somerset Update
Phase 2 Procurement
In July Connecting Devon and Somerset partnership (CDS) issued its open tender to extend the superfast broadband scheme in phase two. £39.5m of public sector investment will deliver Next Generation Access broadband services (a minimum of 30 Mbps) and ultrafast broadband (of speeds greater than 100 Mbps) to tens of thousands of homes and businesses across Devon and Somerset in predominantly rural areas.
Showery at first, but more settled and warmer next week.
The evening will start rather cloudy with patchy drizzle and some fog over the Moors. The cloudy, murky and occasionally damp theme will continue in the west overnight, though some clearer intervals are likely to develop further east. Rather humid. Minimum temperature 16 °C.
Sunday morning still looks rather cloudy, with patchy rain in the west and perhaps a few heavy showers developing further east. A drier and brighter afternoon is expected though. Maximum temperature 20 °C.
Monday looks mostly dry, bright and breezy. High pressure will then become more dominant. Remaining dry on Tuesday and Wednesday with lighter winds and increasingly warm spells of sunshine developing.
