The past month has been an horrendous time for those living in the Far East following the cyclone in Myanmar (Burma) and the horrific earthquake in China. The scenes we have been shown on television or in the newspapers cannot begin to describe the anguish felt by the survivors. We have seen or heard of those in Myanmar who are denied the aid they so desperately need and yet is readily available - and those in China who have lost so many relatives, especially children in the schools that collapsed.
Unsettled with persistent heavy rain and strong winds. Mild.
Another wet day with a band of heavy and persistent rain eastwards across the region. Very windy, especially along the south coast where coastal gales are possible. Some drier spells developing in the west by later afternoon. Very mild. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
A damp evening with rain gradually clearing eastwards overnight. Clear spells to follow, however blustery showers readily developing and spreading into the west. Feeling much cooler. Minimum temperature 4 °C.
A cool start with a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers. These heavy at times with the odd rumble of thunder possible. Temperatures returning closer to the seasonal average. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Sunshine and showers on Tuesday with much lighter winds. Heavy spells of rain moving through on Wednesday and feeling colder. Often cloudy on Thursday with rain possible later.
