A Village on the Blackdown Hills
Welcome to Hemyock Thursday, December 26 2024 @ 10:38 pm UTC
Friday 19th April may well see Hemyock Singers giving their final performance. Our Musical Director, Ron White, will be retiring after 10 years service and so far no replacement has been found.
The concert, Brahms Requiem, will take place at St Mary's church at 7.30pm. No entrance charge but a retiring collection for a local charity - the CAMEO Club.
We do hope you will be able to join us as we have always enjoyed tremendous support from our audiences.
UPDATE: We now have only two dates remaining: Saturday 18th May and Saturday 29th June, if you would like to join our group of tea-makers, we pay £40 per match to include the cost of ingredients. Teas consist of sandwiches, savouries such as sausage rolls, and cake.
Please contact the Club Fixture Secretary Paul Melville on 07737 931737 (after 7 p.m. evenings).
This dog went missing on 17 March while on a walk with his owners in the woods in Clayhidon
between Cordwents and Shepherds Halt, Clayhidon.
Update 24th March: A very relieved Helen rang on Sunday to say Bodie had re-appeared that morning covered in mud and very thin.
Probably been down a hole.
This coming Sunday, 24th, people are invited to meet at the Parish Hall around 11a.m. for the beginning of the Palm Sunday service which will be continued at St Mary's Church where there will be a dramatisation of Christ's Passion.
