Hastoe Housing Association will be holding a Lettings and Sales Open Day event for the twelve affordable homes being built on the Culmstock Road, Hemyock on Tuesday 17th September, from 3 - 7 pm in the Parish Hall, Hemyock. All interested in renting or entering a shared ownership agreement are welcome to attend.
Do go along to St Mary's church on Sunday next (15th) and enjoy the exhibition of art and photography from around the locality as part of the Heritage Sunday celebrations.
The event will run from 2 -5pm and will include background music and the usual delicious refreshments supplied by the Friends of St Mary's.
Hemyock Castle will also be open to visitors.
In keeping with the weekend the church service at 11.15a.m. will follow the Book of Common Prayer format for Morning Prayer
This popular group will be starting rehearsal for their Christmas concert on MONDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER, 7.30pm at the Baptist Chapel.
No voice auditions are held so why not come along and join us - we're a small friendly bunch who sing for an hour, enjoy a coffee break and then sing until 9.30pm.
Our new musical director, Matt, along with our pianist Nigel will be taking us through some well loved Christmas songs along with one or two full of fun and laughter which will be performed on Friday 6th December when the group and the audience will once again enjoy a delicious meal after the show.

Membership confers voting rights at the Annual General Meeting and other general meetings of the Trust. Members receive copies of the CLT’s Newsletter. Hemyock Cricket Club's Autumn QUIZ NIGHT is being held at the Parish Hall on SATURDAY 28th SEPTEMBER starting at 8 pm. £60 cash prize for the winning team, plus a grand raffle.
Entry is £18 per team to include nibbles. Licensed Bar. Minimum of four, maximum of six members per team. Tickets from Hemyock Post Office or from John Hurley (telephone 07891 941306).
Friends of St Mary's are holding a cream tea tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon at Golden Orchard, Castle Hill
St Mary's Parish Church is looking forward to welcoming members of Hemyock Baptist Chapel, along with anyone on holiday in the area, to the 11.15a.m. service on Sunday 18th August.

WI will be cooking a sausage and mash lunch again in the Parish Hall on November 9th. Tickets will be available nearer the time but this event has been extremely popular in the past. Our Spring meal was so well supported that we had to add more tables and almost ran out of food. There will be a delicious selection of home made desserts to choose from so come early to get the best choice! The meal will be served between 12 noon and 1.30pm.
Hemyock WI is thriving and we are currently working on next year's programme. If you have a talent or an interest that you would like to share and would be happy to be one of our speakers or demonstrators please get in touch. All expenses are paid and you will be warmly welcomed.

Early morning fog and frost soon clearing to leave a dry and fine day. Plenty of sunny spells, especially through the morning, before turning cloudier from the west later. Breezy at times, especially along the Cornish coastline. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
Cloud continues to spill across from the west, bringing scattered, sometimes heavy showers to western parts this evening and overnight. Some dry spells too, and much milder than recent nights. Minimum temperature 9 °C.
A rather cloudy day with frequent scattered showers moving slowly northeastwards through the day. Light winds at first but becoming breezy, especially along the south coast. Temperatures remaining above average. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Dry and mild this weekend with cloudier skies on Saturday, but sunshine returning on Sunday. Turning cooler from Monday with thickening cloud bringing patchy rain in places. Breezy at times.
