A Village on the Blackdown Hills
Welcome to Hemyock Friday, April 19 2024 @ 06:25 pm UTC
Hemyock WI is growing from strength to strength and we have welcomed several new members this year. We have an entertaining new programme and would welcome even more people to our meetings. Details of our programme appear in the calendar section.
We have recently enjoyed a wine tasting evening and an outing to the theatre to see Starlight Express.
We are not your typical WI so come along and give us a try. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month in the Forbes Lounge at 7.30pm.
Ring Brenda Calcraft 681592 or Lynn Taylor 680104 for more details.
Back by popular demand is our delicious Sausage and Mash Lunch. This will be held in the Parish Hall on February 9th 2013 from 12 noon until 1.30pm. The cost will be £6.00 to include a two course lunch with homemade desserts and tea or coffee.
Please see a member of the WI to book your tickets or ring Lynn Taylor 01823 680104, Brenda Calcraft 01823 681592, Judith Major 01823 680746 or Sandra Featherstone 680036.
Please book your places early as we sold out last time.
Following on from the Everyone Welcome course organised by the Rev David Burton during the Autumn a meeting is to be held at the Church Room tomorrow, Thursday 31st January, at 7.30pm.
It will be of particular interest to all Church Council members, Sidespeople and folk who would wish to have a contribution to the ministry of welcome in the Upper Culm Valley Mission Community churches of Hemyock with Culm Davy, Clayhidon and Culmstock.
Dry this evening. Clear spells overnight and turning chilly.
Any showers dying out to leave a dry and largely clear night. Turning chilly under the clear skies and lighter winds, with a grass frost likely in places as well as some mist and fog patches. Minimum temperature 1 °C.
A chilly but bright start, with a touch of frost. A dry day to follow with cloud gradually building through the afternoon. Feeling pleasant in the sunshine with light winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
Cloudier on Sunday with patchy rain or showers possible, this continuing into the new week with sunny breaks at times. Generally light winds and temperatures around average.
