Service changes at St Mary's

Due to the continuing clean up operation and drying out period needed at St Mary's church following the recent floods Sundays Christingle service due to be held at 4p.m. has been postponed. It will now be held at 4p.m.on Sunday 9th December.

The Family service on December 2nd will be held at the Church Room. This service will begin at 11.30a.m. and all are welcome

West of England Developments is seeking planning permission for Twelve Affordable Homes at a site on the Culmstock Road, Hemyock. This project is supported by Hastoe Housing Association and the Upper Culm Community Land Trust Ltd.
Anyone interested in the affordable homes, should planning permission be granted, is asked to register their names and addresses with the Company Secretary of the Upper Culm Community Land Trust Ltd.

By early evening tonight (Thurs) the parish church had again been partially flooded as water seeped in past the barriers erected yesterday.  Extra barriers have now been put in place and a few folk have worked hard baling out the water in the porch - thanks to them

Due to the parish church being flooded on Wednesday the 11.15a.m. service on Sunday 25th November will be held in the Church Room.

Thanks are extended to all those who helped clear the debris blockage and erect the porch barrier in the morning and to the small army of volunteers who helped with the clean up operation during the afternoon.

The drying out process is now taking place before the building is sanitised.

Poppy Day Lunch Raises £334.18

A sell-out lunch organised by local volunteers raised £334.18 for The Royal British Legion 2012 Poppy Appeal. 41 local people (including two take-aways!) tucked in to a 3-course lunch at The Blackdown Healthy Living Centre, on Sunday 11 November. Over £320 worth of raffle prizes were donated by generous local businesses.
