Applications are invited for the role of director of the Upper Culm Community Land Trust. Applications must be received by the Company Secretary by Saturday 8th September 2012. Please request a copy of the Application Form from neilpunnett@aol.com). 

Directors are subject to the Rules of the Upper Culm Community Land Trust Ltd. which may be found on the hemyock.org website http://hemyock.org/article.php/20120813100859798

The directors on the Trust’s board are appointed by members at the annual general meeting (or the initial special general meeting).

All candidates for a board position must find existing members of the Trust to act as a proposer and seconder and then declare their intention to stand for the board by e-mail or in writing to the Company Secretary 14 days before the meeting.

Summer Fete 3 - All is revealed

Lucy Akhurst, who has featured in numerous films including  Land Girls and many TV series such as  Hustle, Inspector George GentlyMonarch of The Glen, Wonderful You  and Spaced  will be opening the Summer Fete of St Mary's Parish Church on Saturday 14th July which will be held in the centre of the village at the Recreation Field.

Lucy, now a successful film Director and Producer, is currently working on a musical, two films and a TV series and will be opening the event at 11a.m.................... whatever the weather!

Photographers are reminded that entries for the Seasons in and around Hemyock competition must be handed in between 10 - 10.45 am and voting by members of the public will start after the opening ceremony and close at 3.30pm

During the day a variety of races for those aged between 5 - 18 years will be held,  falconry displays given and along with  a variety of stalls, raffle, teas, barbeque and beer tent  there should be something for everyone to enjoy .

On Sunday 24th June a joint  church service will be held at the Baptist Chapel at 11a.m.  There will be no service at the Parish Church that day, Culmstock will hold  a service of Holy Communion at 8a.m., Clayhidon a Family Service at 10a.m. and Evening Prayer will be held at Culm Davy at 3.30pm  

SUMMER HOLIDAY TENNIS COACHING FOR JUNIORS

We have arranged junior coaching at the tennis courts again this summer. Lauren Curry (who did the coaching last summer and proved very popular) will be holding one-hour sessions for children of different age/ability on Tuesday mornings starting on July 24th and finishing on August 28th (six sessions in total). St Mary's Church Council are to consider the best way to use parts of the church to enhance worship, serve the community, provide necessary facilities and meet the needs of all.

An open meeting for any interested parishoners will be held at the church on Wednesday 13th June at 7.30pm to consider some of the options.
