Welcome to Hemyock, Anonymous Wednesday, April 29 2026 @ 03:24 pm UTC
Blackdowns Early Music Festival has become a mainstream event in the musical calendar for lovers of early music. Every year since 2004 expert singers from all over the UK and Europe have gathered together for occasional weekends in Culmstock to work on programmes of mediaeval, renaissance and baroque vocal music.
Rev David Aylmer Evans retired to Hemyock following his final living as Vicar of a group of churches on the Somerset levels. His curacies had been in Wales and Maccelesfield, followed by a living in Chester before moving into school work and later becoming a counsellor at South Molton School and Community College. Brisk winds with showers in the far southwest.
High level cloud moving through this evening and overnight with the chance of some rain in the far southwest. Clearest skies in the east. Brisk winds keeping the temperatures up overnight. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
A few showers to start in the west, otherwise hazy sunshine on Thursday with blustery winds. Winds easing through the day and feeling pleasant in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 22 °C.
More humid on Friday with showers possible. Turning increasingly cloudy through the weekend with an increasing risk of rain and heavy showers, possibly thundery.
