Welcome to Hemyock, Anonymous Friday, August 07 2026 @ 10:34 pm UTC
Blackdowns Early Music Festival has become a mainstream event in the musical calendar for lovers of early music. Every year since 2004 expert singers from all over the UK and Europe have gathered together for occasional weekends in Culmstock to work on programmes of mediaeval, renaissance and baroque vocal music.
Rev David Aylmer Evans retired to Hemyock following his final living as Vicar of a group of churches on the Somerset levels. His curacies had been in Wales and Maccelesfield, followed by a living in Chester before moving into school work and later becoming a counsellor at South Molton School and Community College. Turning hotter over the weekend.
A fine evening to come with some late sunshine. A clear and dry night for all. Feeling rather cool or even chilly in rural spots. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
A dry and bright morning. High cloud at times will turn the sunshine hazy. Light winds will mean it'll feel hot to very hot in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 28 °C.
High pressure remains in charge for the next few days. Although temperatures may dip slightly on Monday, they will start to climb again on Tuesday. Staying mostly dry throughout.
