Our French friends arrived today (Thursday 21st). The programme of events for the coming weekend can be found by clicking on the Twinning link to the left of this page and then scrolling down. There are no tickets left for the Saturday evening event at Hemyock Parish Hall, but people are welcome to attend the tree planting ceremony at Longmead in Hemyock on Saturday afternoon.
Hemyock Youth Football Presentation Night will be on Thursday 11th June starting at 6pm. There will be rounders and a barbecue.
Every one is welcome.
Hemyock Under 11's played in the Exeter and District Plate Final on Saturday 16th May and gave a good account of themselves.
Mindful of the current financial climate, The Parish Council has been considering sites which might be used for Allotments. One such area was the ground to the rear of the garages at Millhayes.
Devon County Council are reviewing the Definitive Map & Statement for Hemyock and are seeking proposals from organisations and individuals about footpaths, bridleways and byways. Changes and amendments to the map will be considered where plausible and backed up by sufficient data. Please contact our Parish Clerk, Anne Kingston on 680918.
The next meeting of the Hemyock History Group is this coming Thursday 14th May, 2009 in the Church Rooms.
The meeting will include a talk about Military Insignia and Regimental Identification, Badges etc. Please bring along any examples of such Regimental badges.
Hemyock Youth Football AGM in on the 11th May 2008 at 7:30pm in The Catherine Wheel. Everyone is invited and we are looking for volunteers to help run a new Under 8 team. We would pay for all the training needed and help in any way.
Hemyock under 11 meet former Man Utd and England midfielder Bryan Robson.
A number of local youngsters who attend Uffculme School recently took part in a school exchange visit to Wellington's twin town, Lillebonne, France and a return visit has just been enjoyed. The French visitors have enjoyed visits to Montacute, Glastonbury and the Peat Moors Centre, Explore@ Bristol, and Crealey Adventure Park. Their English friends joined them for an evening at the Wellesley Cinema and two days were spent with host families. Prior to arriving the group spent a few hours visiting London
