Welcome to Hemyock, Anonymous Tuesday, June 16 2026 @ 11:41 am UTC
Blackdowns Early Music Festival has become a mainstream event in the musical calendar for lovers of early music. Every year since 2004 expert singers from all over the UK and Europe have gathered together for occasional weekends in Culmstock to work on programmes of mediaeval, renaissance and baroque vocal music.
Rev David Aylmer Evans retired to Hemyock following his final living as Vicar of a group of churches on the Somerset levels. His curacies had been in Wales and Maccelesfield, followed by a living in Chester before moving into school work and later becoming a counsellor at South Molton School and Community College. Changeable with rain at times, though some warm sunshine too.
Early low cloud, mist and fog will lift to give some bright spells. However, further low cloud, with mist and fog patches will gradually spread across the region from the west, accompanied by patchy rain. Feeling quite warm and humid. Maximum temperature 20 °C.
It will be a cloudy evening and night with mist and fog patches. There will be some patchy rain, turning locally heavier and more persistent later. Warm and humid. Minimum temperature 14 °C.
Cloudy and murky during the morning with some outbreaks of rain, locally heavy for a time. Becoming mostly dry during the afternoon with the chance of a few brighter breaks. Maximum temperature 19 °C.
The weather looks rather mixed to end the week and start the weekend. Areas of cloud will give some rain at times, though feeling warm in any brighter breaks.
