Welcome to Hemyock, Anonymous Thursday, July 09 2026 @ 08:14 pm UTC
Blackdowns Early Music Festival has become a mainstream event in the musical calendar for lovers of early music. Every year since 2004 expert singers from all over the UK and Europe have gathered together for occasional weekends in Culmstock to work on programmes of mediaeval, renaissance and baroque vocal music.
Rev David Aylmer Evans retired to Hemyock following his final living as Vicar of a group of churches on the Somerset levels. His curacies had been in Wales and Maccelesfield, followed by a living in Chester before moving into school work and later becoming a counsellor at South Molton School and Community College. Plenty of sunshine to come. Feeling hot.
A warm and sunny evening. Staying clear overnight, but the risk of some patches of mist and fog forming once more. A warm night for most. Minimum temperature 15 °C.
Any early fog clearing to leave a hot and sunny day across the region. Light winds and high UV levels expected. A very warm evening and night to come too. Maximum temperature 35 °C.
Staying dry, sunny and very warm throughout the weekend. An increased breeze may allow things to feel slightly cooler at times. Perhaps a few showers come Monday. Nights remaining warm.
