Christmas fair/ Christingle

St Mary's annual Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 6th December at the Parish Hall from 2 - 4pm

Traditional stalls, raffles, refreshments and lots of other goodies including a visit from Father Christmas will be on ofer.

The following afternoon at 4pm a Christingle service will be held at the parish church.  This is a time when families are  very especially welcome.

Hemyock School choir will be singing and oranges with a central candle representing Christ as the Light of the World will be distributed.

bedding and clothing appeal

Over the past couple of years we have collected good quallity second hand clothing, bedding and towels for the charity Christian Response to Eastern Europe. Due to the loss of premises this was halted but with new storage space now available cr2ee is once again accepting goods. if you have any of the above items you would like to donate please contact jbawler1947@hotmail.co.uk or phone 07773579809.  Collection may be possible.

All goods ( and any Christmas Shoeboxes) need to be delivered before November 22nd

Remembrance Day

The annual service of Remembrance will be held at the Parish Church on Sunday at 10.15a.m.

Prior to this a parade, to which all are welocome to be part of, will leave the Parish Hall at 10a.m.

 On  Tuesday 11th  a short Act of Commemoration will take place at the War Memorial at 10.45a.m. 

Christmas Shoeboxes

There is just over a month before Christmas Shoeboxes need to be  handed in at 4 South View.

All boxes from those for the  youngest to the eldest folk  are gratefully accepted and will be distributed to the very poorest families in Eastern Europe by Christian Response to Eastern Europe (CR2EE)

Hemyock Singers

Songs from musicals have been chosen by Hemyock Singers for their concert in December.  Joseph, Miss Saigon, Oklahoma, and West Side Story are just some of the shows the songs are from.  Do come and join the rehearsals at the Baptist Chapel on Mondays at 7.30pm as we would welcome new members.

Wellington Wheelers

Starting on Sunday 12th October Wellington Wheelers will start a newly introduced ‘beginners group’ that is aimed at women and those looking to improve their fitness and mileage in a relaxed and friendly group. The C group will continue every Sunday up until December.

Group rides begin at 9am, meeting in Asda car park on Longforth Road, Wellington.

The pace will be gentle, with a sensible distance that will be suited to all. The ride will be led by an experienced member of the Wellington Wheelers and a café stop will be included within the route. Wellington Wheelers also welcomes any other cyclists that wish to participate in standard club rides (35 - 50miles) on Sunday mornings at the same time. This includes a fast pace bunch and a mid-pace bunch.
