There is just over a month before Christmas Shoeboxes need to be handed in at 4 South View.
All boxes from those for the youngest to the eldest folk are gratefully accepted and will be distributed to the very poorest families in Eastern Europe by Christian Response to Eastern Europe (CR2EE)

Starting on Sunday 12th October Wellington Wheelers will start a newly introduced ‘beginners group’ that is aimed at women and those looking to improve their fitness and mileage in a relaxed and friendly group. The C group will continue every Sunday up until December.
Group rides begin at 9am, meeting in Asda car park on Longforth Road, Wellington.
The pace will be gentle, with a sensible distance that will be suited to all. The ride will be led by an experienced member of the Wellington Wheelers and a café stop will be included within the route. Wellington Wheelers also welcomes any other cyclists that wish to participate in standard club rides (35 - 50miles) on Sunday mornings at the same time. This includes a fast pace bunch and a mid-pace bunch.
Ist Hemyock Scout' Annual Sale is on Saturday 4th October in the Parish Hall, doors open at 2pm, there will also be a bbq and cream teas
If you have any jumble please bring along between 7-9 on Friday 3rd or between 10-12 on the 4th, if you require larger items to be collected please call Wendy on 01823 680535
This Friday, 26th September , Harvest Festival will be celebrated at the Parish Church at 7pm. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Tony Grosse - a past Rector.
St Mary's has been supporting the local Foodbank in recent months and you are invited to bring along donations of tinned or packet food to either this service or the 11.15 Harvest celebration on Sunday. Gifts may also be left in the box at the back of the church. Please ensure all donations are within date. At present there is a shortage of UHT milk - rice pudding - biscuits - fruit juice- tinned fruit but all contributions ( including dog food) are welcome.

Tickets for Hemyock Cricket Club's Quiz Night on Saturday 27th September are now available from Hemyock Post Office. The Quiz starts at 7.30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Tickets are priced at £30 for teams of four, five or six members, which includes food. There is a licensed bar and raffle, and a cash prize of £100 for the winning team.
Embrace has cancelled the meeting scheduled for 10am on 18th September.

A bright start to the day, with a scattering of showers. Showers becoming more widespread and frequent as the day progresses, some heavy with the risk of thunder. Breezy and feeling a little fresher than the weekend. Maximum temperature 21 °C.
Showers tending to fade away through the evening and overnight. Most places dry with lengthy clear spells developing. Turning a little chilly as winds fall light. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
A bright start to the morning, though showers once again developing. Showers heaviest and most frequent in the west. Best of the sunshine in the east. Breezy. Maximum temperature 21 °C.
An unsettled period, with sunny spells and frequent blustery showers, some heavy with hail and thunder. Rather breezy throughout and turning a little cooler.
