Archived Stories Lynn Taylor, the president welcomed members to the February Meeting in the Forbes Lounge. Arrangements were made for the visit to the show Cats in April at Torquay and names were taken for those able to go to the Observatory at Sidmouth. It was agreed by all who attended, that the birthday meal at the Half Moon was very enjoyable. Daphne and Brenda reported on the resolutions meeting they had attended at Sidmouth in January where the resolution concerning the threatened closure of local hospitals was voted the most important.

Archived Stories We are hoping to encourage many more people to play tennis on our new courts at the beginning of the new season. Non-members may hire the courts (bookable at the Spar) and we're organising two Coaching Courses, taken by our LTA coach, Doug Scott, at very reasonable rates.

Wet Weather!

Archived Stories The courts are proving to be able to take the wet weather and are surviving the wind and rain and draining well. So tennis is still being played through the winter with Saturday morning being particularly popular. We have had the occasional beautiful sunny morning - really enjoyable. New players always warmly welcomed.

Upper Culm Twinning Exchange

Archived Stories Our next exchange visit has now been arranged. Our French friends are arriving
on Thursday May 17th. late pm and departing on Sunday May 20th mid-day.

We are now planning the itinerary for their visit. Once again more French friends
wish to visit our beautiful region than at present we can find accommodation for.
If you have ever thought about getting involved with the Twinning Association,
why not offer accommodation for the weekend and see what fun it is to discover

Archived Stories Surprise package Hemyock lead the way in the Stones Tennis League despite losing their last match to Bradninch 5-4.  Hemyock are five points ahead of second-placed Willand but the two-times champions have a game in hand.

No Signs Of Hemyock Rust

Archived Stories There were no signs of rust in the Hemyock U9 camp after they beat Brixington United 7-1 in their first game for a month. With Liam Travers and Dean Blake running things, they tore the defence apart to go 4-0 up at half time.
