Congratulations to three teams from Hemyock Tennis Club who have won in their respective Leagues this year.  In the spring, the Men's Team won their Division of the Somerset Winter League for which they were awarded a rather smart engraved glass bowl, and just now the Mixed Summer Leagues have finished.

On the Sunday afternoon following Wimbledon finals day, Hemyock Tennis Club held its own version of the great event with a mixed doubles tournament followed by champagne, strawberries, tea and cakes.

After a short history of making pickles and chutneys from produce grown on the farm, members enjoyed guessing the many ingredients used in chutneys from Rumwell Farm shop for their April meeting.

Our summer mixed league has started again with both teams doing well after two rounds. If you'd like to take part contact Rachel: rachel_bussell@hotmail.com Matches are played in the evening and are usually mid-week.  "Mini-tennis" (small racquets and soft balls) is being run in conjunction with the Primary School for 5-9 yr olds after school this term. Following our successful event last summer, The Upper Culm Twinning Association will once again be running a family sports evening on Longmead Field. The event will be held on Saturday 17th July from 4pm until 8pm. There will be a variety of activities including boules, skittles and rounders along with BBQ food and a bar. Put the date in your diary and come along and join the fun!
