One of the things that the Emmaus group has been looking at is the idea of different forms of worship. They are currently looking at a presentation to mark Epiphany, but before then are planning a service in the spirit of Taize.
We want to let you know about a new A4 magazine that will be arriving in St Mary’s in the next few days.
The Guild held two coffee mornings. One on August 4th at 37 Castle Park and on September 1st at 34 Castle Park.

Over the past few months the three Parochial Church Councils have been looking at the pattern of services in the Benefice.
The pattern of services in the benefice is changing. This is to make it more manageable and allow the Rector time to see people at earlier services without having to rush off to be on time for the next one.
Congratulations and warm applause have been given to the Rev Malcolm Beal by members of St Mary’s Church and Culm Davy Chapel, Hemyock as he celebrated 50 years as a Minister in the Church of England.

On a glorious Saturday these two teams gave everyone watching an exciting game. The first half was dominated by Sidmouth scoring three goals with no reply. They were helped by some very poor defending from the Hemyock boys who were finding it very hard to adapt to the full size pitch.

A mild and cloudy evening as a band of rain arrives from the west, bringing some heavy outbreaks overnight. Further showers to follow by dawn. Becoming increasingly breezy especially around the coasts, and feeling rather humid. Minimum temperature 13 °C.
A mixture of brighter spells and scattered, blustery showers, these perhaps heavy at times. Breezy, particularly along the coasts, but mild, even humid, for many. Maximum temperature 19 °C.
Changeable with further scattered, blustery showers at times, but some drier, brighter interludes as well. Staying rather breezy, especially around the coasts, with temperatures a little above average.
