I would like to thank all those who have offered accommodation to our French Twins who are due to arrive on Thursday 17th. May. If there is any one else who is interested in getting involved in Twinning there is still time to participate in the forthcoming visit. Just to remind you they arrive on Thursday May 17th late pm and departing on Sunday May 20th mid-day.
At the AGM of Hemyock Singers on Monday, 12th March, there being no other nominations, the present Committee were re-elected en bloc. The Treasurer reported a satisfactory situation, thanks to good ticket sales and donations. However, next year the accounts of the choral and stage groups will be presented separately.
Many thanks to all people of the Parish who have contributed to the fund dedicated for the renovation of our Parish Clock in the Church Tower.
19TH APRIL HEMYOCK PARISH HALL 7pm
Lynn Taylor, the president welcomed members to the February Meeting in the Forbes Lounge. Arrangements were made for the visit to the show Cats in April at Torquay and names were taken for those able to go to the Observatory at Sidmouth. It was agreed by all who attended, that the birthday meal at the Half Moon was very enjoyable. Daphne and Brenda reported on the resolutions meeting they had attended at Sidmouth in January where the resolution concerning the threatened closure of local hospitals was voted the most important.
We are hoping to encourage many more people to play tennis on our new courts at the beginning of the new season. Non-members may hire the courts (bookable at the Spar) and we're organising two Coaching Courses, taken by our LTA coach, Doug Scott, at very reasonable rates.
Now that Spring is here it would be appreciated if those people not living in areas where our hard working volunteer Litter Pickers operate, could play their part by clearing up rubbish and litter in their patch.

The Friends of St Mary's met in the Church rooms on Tuesday January 16th. Unsettled with further spells of heavy rain and strong winds.
Remaining unsettled this evening and overnight with further spells rain, becoming heavy and persistent again by dawn, especially over the hills. Staying very windy and mild. Minimum temperature 10 °C.
Another wet day with a band of heavy and persistent rain across the region. Rain may gradually clear the west later by the evening. Mild and windy. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Sunshine and heavy showers through Monday and Tuesday. Outbreaks of rain on Wednesday. Strongest winds easing with temperatures returning closer to the seasonal average.
