All Saint’s Church, Culmstock was the venue for a choral concert given by Hemyock Singers with proceeds going to two charities supported by the Blackdown Mothers’ Union who provided excellent refreshments at the end of the evening
All of the music and some of the words had been composed by member Bob Brien who acted as Musical Director for the evening.
Despite overcast skies and another event being held in the village the annual Summer Fete organised by St Mary’s Parish Church was a great success raising over £1,800.

A bright start to the day, with a scattering of showers. Showers becoming more widespread and frequent as the day progresses, some heavy with the risk of thunder. Breezy and feeling a little fresher than the weekend. Maximum temperature 21 °C.
Showers tending to fade away through the evening and overnight. Most places dry with lengthy clear spells developing. Turning a little chilly as winds fall light. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
A bright start to the morning, though showers once again developing. Showers heaviest and most frequent in the west. Best of the sunshine in the east. Breezy. Maximum temperature 21 °C.
An unsettled period, with sunny spells and frequent blustery showers, some heavy with hail and thunder. Rather breezy throughout and turning a little cooler.
